About

A little bit about me...............
I’ve had talent for drawing & painting from an early age and only seemed logical, after leaving the Berkshire College of Art & Design that I should consequently spend many years working in office interior design!! Well, since that part of my life came to, largely, a premature end I have been pursuing a career as an artist / illustrator which is probably more suited to my abilities.
I like colour in my work. Vivid colours. That makes me happy. However, when there is a need for just black and white....I cope. I like detail, influenced, probably, by my architectural training so much of my illustrations have a realistic feel whether they be figurative or architectural.
I am as happy working with traditional techniques as I do digital. My illustrations usually start of with sketching, drawing and once finalised can be transferred digitally for colouring etc. to be completed on the computer. Digital illustration is obviously faster and more an accepted way of working but there is still space for the older traditional ways. I like to think so.

Client commendations.-

1. ( Richard Evens ) http://ultimatedriving.net/

We run Ultimate Driving School in the Newbury area. I am fed up of buying inadequate and quite frankly useless teaching aids from Driving Instructor magazines. I needed some illustrations of cars, pedestrians etc. to use to create clear and concise pictoral teaching aids. I searched online and came across Steve's website which shows many examples of his work. I cannot recommend him highly enough not just in terms of his artwork, but also in the quick and accurate response to emails and queries along the way. Thank You very much and as I have already said will be in touch soon for some more....?

Steve has an amazing talent that spans photorealism through to what one might consider a more impressionistic style. The painting of our house is simply stunning. ( see Commissioning art - Houses )
